In children, seizures represent an extremely heterogeneous group of medical conditions ranging from benign cases, such as a simple febrile seizure, to life-threatening situations, status epilepticus. Underlying causes also wide range pathologies idiopathic usually genetic, variety acute and chronic intracranial or systemic abnormalities. This document discusses appropriate utilization neuroimaging tests in child with seizures. The clinical scenarios this take into consideration different circumstances at the time child’s presentation including patient’s age, precipitating event (if any), electroencephalogram findings include neonatal seizures, complex post-traumatic focal primary generalized neurologically normal child, abnormal child. practical approach aims guide clinicians decision-making help identify efficient imaging workup.The American College Radiology Appropriateness Criteria are evidence-based guidelines for specific that reviewed annually by multidisciplinary expert panel. guideline development revision extensive analysis current literature peer journals application well-established methodologies (RAND/UCLA Method Grading Recommendations Assessment, Development, Evaluation GRADE) rate appropriateness treatment procedures scenarios. those instances where evidence is lacking equivocal, opinion may supplement available recommend treatment.
